The first eight tracks recorded at the Lighthouse in March 1957 blue music group and released on album under the name Drummin' the Blues, feature the band playing a loose set of simple blues arrangements. The album features the same personnel throughout with the one exception being the drum chair in which Max Roach blue music group and Stan Levey are each featured on four tracks.
